It’s great to be back
After a busy summer, I needed a well-earned break away from everything. Something this year has truly shown me is that we must do the things that make us happy whilst also taking the time to recharge our batteries. I spent September with my nose in quite a few books with the one I’m about to share with you has a special meaning for me, it was the first book I was chosen to be an ARC (advanced reader copy) reader for.

T. Priceton is an indie author who enjoys writing some suspense with her romance. Her stories might have some darker themes, but you can always count on a little bit of laughter before getting to the happily ever after.

One of my absolute favourite genre to read is anything mafia romance. I don’t know if it’s the danger mixed with burning hot passion , the tatted brooding leading men or the fierce woman who are goddesses to the men that love them but it’s a genre that will always be my favourite.
Imagine my delight when T.priceton chose me to be one of her ARC readers for her debut novel Matteo which happens to be one of my favourite genres mafia romance. I will always be grateful for being given this opportunity.
Matteo is 326 pages of pure mafia heaven, from the teaser alone I was completely obsessed with the two main character Matteo Dimaggio and Luxtyn stockwell.
Matteo is the don of the dimaggio crime family after his parents were killed years previously, he became the head of the family and their businesses and vowed to make the man who killed his parents pay. After years filled with careful planning he vows its time for his revenge.
He strikes a marriage of convenience with luxtyn, things don’t say convenient for long with both lux and matteo feeling things beyond a simple business arrangement. Matteos marriage to lux is important in bringing the man responsible for killing his parents whilst for lux needs the marriage to help find her mother and stay alive as her absent father is non other than a fellow mafia don.
Lux was a perfect match for matteo , she is strong , she knows her own mind and has no problem telling matteo when he is wrong. They were equals in their marriage that became so much more than a simple business transaction.
The plot that ran the course of this book was perfectly written and had me on the edge of my seat, there were some serious twists and turns in this book. The tense parts of this book were balanced with the right amount humour with matteos brother enzo bringing the banter in some otherwise tense moments.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment reading matteo, every element of the book was perfectly executed the balance between Mafia aspects and the romantic moments between lux and matteo were just perfect. Matteo may be a ruthless mafia don but he became much more than that he became a husband a role I think is just so perfect for him he appears tough but he shows a softness towards his wife that was just beautiful to read. lux was matteos guiding light and made him be a better version of himself , she brought out a side of him that he’d locked away since his parents were killed she broke through that part of matteo with such finesse . Lux and teo will always be a match made in mafia heaven for me.

I had the opportunity to ask T.priceton a few questions about all thing books and whats next in store for the dimaggio family.
What made you decide to write Matteo ?
T.PRICETON: I’ve been reading romance off and on since I was 13 or 14 and one day I just decided to try writing my own!
What was your inspiration behind Matteo ?
T.PRICETON: I love mafia romance. There’s something about those morally gray MMC’s that I love. Add in the suspense that you can write into a mafia romance and it was an easy decision!
If you could have anyone play matteo and luxtyn who would they be?
T.PRICETON: Oh gosh, ummm. For Matteo, I’d have to go with Michele Morrone because yum. And Luxtyn . . . maybe Nina Dobrev?
Advice for anyone looking to write their first novel ?
T.PRICETON: Keep writing. Even when you think your story is garbage, just keep writing because that imposter syndrome is real and it’ll try to keep you from fulfilling your dream. Write the book. Get it edited. Then publish it.
Whats next for the dimaggios ?
T.PRICETON: I’m currently working on book two, which will feature the sister and her MMC, and then after that I’ll finish the series with fan favorite, Enzo.
